    Summary and comment:

We are living in an era which is surrounded, supported and depends heavily on technology. Some of the great products of technology include invention of movies and cinema. Movies - one of the youngest and at the same time one of the most popular forms of art . Its history compared to thousands of years history of music, art or theater is short. However, every day millions of spectators fill halls of movie theatres, and ever more people watch movies on TV. Today human life is simply impossible to imagine without cinema. The cinema takes a very important place in modern life and plays an important role in the social, political, educational life of people. There are several movie houses almost in every city of the world whether it is a large metropolitan, small provincial town or even a remote villages. Young and old, men and women, all like to enjoy a picture. Because of such popularity, cinema and movies have clearly cultural and moral influence on people of all ages. It has a powerful impact on their behaviors and minds. In some certain cases, the cinema affects people in a positive way. It acts as a source of entertainment, knowledge, employment etc. Generally, the cinema can provide people with many different and useful opportunities. But it cannot be noticed that the influence of cinema is often negative. Simultaneously with benefits cinema also causes a lot of harm to people. In my opinion the damage is much dominated and soon if people do not solve this problem It will be able to radically change the society. There are some examples of a detrimental effect of cinema on people.

First of all the most important problem is that cinema has an adverse effect on social and moral atmosphere of the society. Most of the films produced nowadays have little social content. More and more violent behavior, pornographic details, rape,  drinking, smoking, drug addiction scenes are shown in films today. As a result, it becomes persistent obsessions in people’s mentality and gradually leads them to do all this things in real life. It exercises a profound influence on the minds of the people, especially on those who are young. Thereby most young people become more sex conscious, start to experiment with alcohol, drugs, and cigarettes at an early age.

Secondly, the cinema changes people's attitude to life and makes them less happy. It creates dissatisfaction in people with their current position and status in life. In the movie pictures, the hero and heroine are often shown rolling in luxury, gold and wearing fashionable clothes. They seem to have nothing to do except make love and enjoy their life. All this show of wealth and comfort naturally makes those persons dissatisfied who are not so favourably placed. They also want to enjoy their life like the characters of the film; and hence lose all happiness in their present life. This evil effect of the cinema is clearly seen in the behaviour of a large number of boys and girls, who run away from their home searching for better life.

Thirdly, the cinema often increases crime. It is becoming an easy source for a criminal to learn and apply new tricks and tactics for robbery, murder and other crimes.  Many films glorify the career of a criminal and initiate the young into the world of crime, because young people’s fledgling brains are vulnerable to these stimuli. Many young criminals are found to commit crimes due to the fact that they simply imitate what they have seen on the screen. In short, if ignored, the impact of movie would result in long-lasting and painful problems in society.

And last but not least, excessive visits to the cinema have an injurious effect on human's health. During moving-picture show people have to sit crowded together in the suffocating atmosphere of closed halls. This is a favourable medium for spreading infectious diseases. Also frequent visits to the cinema are very injurious to eye-sight. Because the screen image is unstable. It is constantly flashing, blinking and during watching films person's eyes are too overstrained. Even the food like pop corn and coca-cola which sold in cinema is harmful for health. It is already proven by many scientists fact . But despite it,  people still buy and eat such food , because some of them can not watch movie without the greasy, salty, crunchy snack.

I want to point that movies have great influence on people’s behavior and it is not always positive. What people need to do is to make use of its positive sides and to prevent its negative ones as much as possible. Cinema should be cleaned off its evil. It situation firstly should be attentively control by government and strict censorship. They could work on an act or a bill limiting the shown unacceptable scenes in films. And certain films may be denied the right be released on the movie theatres. Also the director of films must take great responsibility for what they create. For the benefit of the people they should produce more useful pictures with the educational and reformative purposes. Anyway, every effort should be made in order to improve the quality of films  and avoid their evils.
