Going to the theatre

28 Ноября 2011, сочинение

It’s a well known fact that the theatre has always struck the attention of people from medieval and antique times and continues doing it even now. But unfortunately today this form of art doesn’t enjoy wide popularity as it did in the past. It is obvious that the main reason of it is that the 20th century brought great changes in our lives such as the birth of the cinematography which is considered to be the synthesis of the literature, arts, theatre and the music and which rapidly became popular and replaced the theatre. And later when people got a possibility to enjoy the cinema sitting at home they totally started forgetting about this wonderful form of art. But still there are people who prefer to enjoy the real acting of the cast that brings more pleasure and positive emotions than the cinematography.

First associations that occur at the word "childhood" - a soft toy. Fluffy and smooth, small or large soft toys, sedately sits on shelves or protect sleep a little master, sitting up in bed. Perhaps each of us, closing his eyes and remembered his childhood, sees a teddy bear or a pink rabbit, which, growing up, so do not want to leave.

Psychologists believe that soft toys have to be in the game set, both girls and boys. And parents are absolutely no doubts that the stuffed toys should fall in love with himself at first sight and be safe at all one hundred percent.

Henry Ford

22 Мая 2013, доклад

Henry Ford (1863-1947) was the American industrialist who revolutionized factory production with his assembly- line methods.
Ford spent most of his life making headlines, good, bad, but never indifferent. Celebrated as both a technological genius and a folk hero, Ford was the creative force behind an industry of unprecedented size and wealth that in only a few decades permanently changed the economic and social character of the United States. When young Ford left his father’s farm in 1879 for Detroit, only two out of eight Americans lived in cities; when he died at age 83, the proportion was five out of eight.

Henry VIII & his reign

28 Ноября 2011, реферат

Henry VIII has been a subject of interest and study for centuries. One of Britain's most powerful rulers, he came to the throne at eighteen and left it at fifty-six. He married six times and left three children, only one of whom was considered his legitimate heir at the time of Henry's death.
After the pervading gloom of Henry Tudor’s last years, Henry VIII came to the throne on the crest of a wave of popularity, for this handsome, beardless youth of seventeen embodied a new age and seemed the antithesis of his father. He was tall and well proportioned, had a fair complexion and auburn hair. He was athletic, riding well, accurate in his marksmanship and determined to shine in jousts.

History of Christianity

21 Октября 2011, реферат

In the initial decades of the Roman Empire, at the eastern end of the Mediterranean, a new religion, Christianity, emerged. Much of the impetus for this new religion rested in issues in the Jewish religion, including a long-standing belief in the coming of a Messiah and rigidities that had developed in the Jewish priesthood. Whether or not Christianity was created by God, as Christians believe, the early stages of the religion focused on cleansing the Jewish religion of stiff rituals and haughty leaders. It had little at first to do with Roman culture. Christianity arose in a remote province and appealed particularly to the poorer classes. It is not easy, as a result, to fit Christianity neatly into the patterns of Roman history: It was deliberately separate, and only gradually had wider impact

Trick-or-treating is a customary celebration for children on Halloween. Children go in costume from house to house, asking for treats such as candy or sometimes money, with the question, "Trick or treat?" The word "trick" refers to a (mostly idle) "threat" to perform mischief on the homeowners or their property if no treat is given. In some parts of Scotland children still go guising. In this custom the child performs some sort of trick, i.e. sings a song or tells a ghost story, to earn their treats.

The most important factors for the clients of any hotel are safety, stability, range of services, their accessibility and efficiency of delivery, the culture of staff behavior. A hotel and a restaurant should be not only a place for passing a night and food preparation area , but also a "home away from home" where they can have a calm, comfotrtable rest. The guest should feel that he is not a supplicant for services but he rules the situation. Hospitality is the secret weapon of service.

Naming a single entity is one of the basic speech acts, included by Searle (1975) in the class of declaratives, alongside declaring war, dismissing and bequeathing. People and places, pets and hurricanes, rock groups and festivities, institutions and commercial products, works of art and shops are given a name (Lehrer 1994). Naming serves to highlight entities that play a role in people's daily life, and to establish and maintain an individuality in society.

Indian borrowings in english

INTRODUCTION

Topicallity. American Indian language is a group of languages that once covered and today still partially cover all of South America, the Antilles, and Central America to the south of a line from the Gulf of Honduras to the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica. Estimates of the number of speakers in that area in pre-Columbian times vary from 10,000,000 to 20,000,000. In the early 1980s there were approximately 15,900,000, more than three-fourths of them in the central Andean areas. Language lists include around 1,500 languages, and figures over 2,000 have been suggested. For the most part, the larger estimate refers to tribal units whose linguistic differentiation cannot be determined. Because of extinct tribes with unrecorded languages, the number of languages formerly spoken is impossible to assess. Only between 550 and 600 languages (about 120 now extinct) are attested by linguistic materials. Fragmentary knowledge hinders the distinction between language and dialect and thus renders the number of languages indeterminate.

Innovation and technology management

16 Апреля 2012, реферат

In the twentieth century the concept of innovation based on traditional model has been dominated on the market - competitive advantage is achieved through the operation of major research laboratories developing technologies that are subsequently used to create new products. However, in the late 20th century, there have been structural changes: increase access to venture capital. There is also an increase of economic integration, internationalization of economic activity, the development of globalization and the emergence of new information and communication capabilities. These factors significantly influenced the reduction in the effectiveness of innovation, based on the use of closed innovation processes. The Internet is a global network of interconnected computers, enabling users to share information along multiple channels. Typically, a computer that connects to the Internet can access information from a vast array of available servers and other computers by moving information from them to the computer's local memory. The same connection allows that computer to send information to servers on the network; that information is in turn accessed and potentially modified by a variety of other interconnected computers.

Investigation of fuel economy of gas turbine in hybrid cars

03 Августа 2011, научная работа

Though since recently, hybrid cars are having acceptable technical parameters. Until now, hybrid cars have been basically using traditional internal combustion engines, either working on diesel or gasoline, due to their state-of-the art nature and relatively high thermal efficiency. However, when analyzing engine operation modes in hybrid cars, and more particularly, their ability to operate in an optimal mode, a gas turbine usually comes to mind, which is comparable to other thermal engines due to its exceptional technical properties. Determining its performance in hybrid cars in terms of fuel economy alone is technically incorrect, since all aspects of this technical solution shall be taken into account.

John Maynard Keynes

20 Ноября 2011, биография

John Maynard Keynes was born June 5, 1883 in Cambridge, England. Although the tone of his major writings in the 1920s was occasionally skeptical, he did not directly challenge the conventional wisdom of the period that favored laissez-faire. But his opinions did foreshadow the theoretical revolution he triggered in the 1930s with his work, The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money. (born June 5, 1883, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, Eng.—died April 21, 1946, Firle, Sussex) English economist, journalist, and financier, best known for his economic theories (Keynesian economics) on the causes of prolonged unemployment. His most important work, The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money (1935–36), advocated a remedy for economic recession based on a government-sponsored policy of full employment.
